Ready to Roll

Today/last night was my “travel day” which suddenly seems silly because now all of them are travel days.

And I got a warm send off from Megan’s cousin Alex, her husband Bob, and their sons Holden and Wilson.

Thanks, Alex!

It’s not as bad as it looks, really
Piece of cake – we’re ready to roll again and within sight (sorta) of the Atlantic (whited out sadly).
My gracious hosts for the evening.
Happy birthday to you, Wilson. You are quite a character.

Tomorrow if the weather holds, I’ll head to the beach to dip my tires in the Atlantic (it’s a tradition for TransAm cyclists) and then we’re off.  Weather permitting… I’m a wimp when it comes to starting in the rain.

BTW if any of these photos look sideways on your computer would you leave a comment? Seems that iPhone pictures do that sometimes with WordPress and since I view my blog on an iPad, the issue is invisible to me. An iBlindspot so to speak.

  1. Bon Voyage Jim! The “Piece of cake” photo was upside down on my computer, just FYI.

  2. Good luck with the weather on your first day, and I hope to see you in a few days!

  3. Looking forward to hearing you’re on the road (without rain!).

  4. So nice to meet you and have you over last night! As I look at the dreary weather outside, I’m wondering if you’re going to set off today. Let us know if you don’t and need anything! Good luck!!

  5. Go, Jim, Go!
What a huge adventure you are embarking on…..and for a great cause. I look forward to reading about your progress. May the road rise up to meet you, and may the wind be always at your back!

  6. Thanks for all the encouraging words and support! I feel like there are a bunch of mini-yous along with me in some big basket in the front of my bike.

  7. So this is a ‘sea to shining sea’ ride!

  8. Just getting a chance to send my positive vibes for a great trip/adventure… It was great meeting you the other day. The boys are still asking about you so I’ll be sure to update them at dinner. Best of luck on your journey… We’ll be keeping tabs and living vicariously through you!!!
